Finally an affordable tool you can add to your garage that will let you port your own pistons any time you want. NO MILL REQUIRED, just a hand drill and a desire to add horsepower to your ride. Each tool comes in its own engraved wood case to keep your tool clean and ready to use.

Tools Needed to Gas Port Your Pistons:

Gas porting tool

Drill and bit

Roll pin

Instructions for Marking Your Pistons:

Mark the top of your pistons with marker at gas port locations.

(Approximately 1 3/8" spacing. Adjust spacing to fit circumference of piston. Avoid locating gas port too close to valve reliefs.)

Instructions for Setting Your Gas Porting (GP) Tool:

1. Insert drill bit approximately 3/8" into drill.

2. Snug the chuck.

3. Slide roll pin over drill bit. (Roll pin is used as a spacer to allow for proper drilling depth.)

4. Insert drill bit into hole of GP tool.

5. Loosen the chuck to slide drill bit back into the chuck so that the tip of the drill bit is flush with the ring land guide of GP tool.

6. Snug the chuck.

7. Remove GP tool from drill bit, leaving roll pin on the bit.

You are now ready to gas port your pistons.

Instructions for Gas Porting Your Pistons:

1. On top of your GP tool is an alignment slot. Insert GP tool into top ring land, matching the slot with one of the marks you made on top of your piston.

2. To hold your GP tool in place, firmly grasp your piston and GP tool over the top of your piston with your free hand. (You may rather use a hose clamp to hold your GP tool in place. If so, simply drill a hole in the hose clamp, and align it with the hole of your GP tool. The hole in the hose clamp should be large enough to allow the roll pin on the drill bit to meet the flat surface of the GP tool.)

3. Making sure roll pin is still on drill bit, insert bit into hole of GP tool.

4. Slowly drill into piston until roll pin meets flat surface of GP tool. (Pull drill bit back several times during drilling process. This allows chips to exit the hole, thus avoiding drill bit breakage.)

5. Remove GP tool.

6. Inspect gas port to ensure desired depth has been reached.

(If not, you may want to reset the drill bit, following

Instructions for Setting Your Gas Porting (GP) Tool, and repeat

steps 1 - 5 of Instructions for Gas Porting Your Pistons.)

7. Blow chips out of your GP tool and ring land of piston.

8. Repeat steps 1 - 7 for each mark on each of your pistons.

9. After gas porting all your pistons, file sharp edges off the ports, both in ring land and on outer edge of pistons.

Important notes:

1. Make sure you have the proper size GP tool.

2. To avoid damaging your pistons and/or GP tool, DO NOT force your GP tool into piston ring land.

3. If you break a drill bit, simply remove the broken bit from drill, repeat Instructions for Setting Your Gas Porting (GP)

Tool, and follow Instructions for Gas Porting Your Pistons.
